During the last two months the team at the Cyprus University of Technology is focusing on the development and adjustment of an innovative approach to classify the images obtained by Drone using open-source technologies (Python code). As a result, the vineyards parcels shown at the images are classified into the appropriate risk category (low, medium, high and very high risk) in order to be visually discrete on maps (color palette from yellow to red, depending on the degree of risk). The raster classification process is applied on the indexed Orthophotomosaic (NDVI index) raster. The values of the NDVI index range from 0-1 and is extremely valuable to identify potential illnesses or hazards that may affect the vineyards.
